âś… Year End Scribe Checks
‍
‍1.  Ensure your cost codes have the correct 'Type' allocated - this allows Scribe to correctly populate your annual return figures. Read here for further guidance.
2. Ensure your accounts are reconciled and balancing to date. If you do come across a discrepancy, read here for further guidance.
3. Check that your closing VAT position matches the amount left to reclaim/due to pay. If the figures do not match have a read of our guide here.
4. Run the detailed cost centre report to review transaction allocations.
5. Confirm assets and outstanding borrowing amounts are correct as at 31st March.
6. Ensure your prior year annual return figures are feeding into the left hand column of your 23/24 AGAR. If it is your first year using Scribe, you will need to enter your prior year figures. If it is not your first year, you will need to copy your figures forward.

🤝 Moving from R&P to I&E
‍
If your council needs to move to the Income & Expenditure approach because they have exceeded the ÂŁ200,000 threshold for 3 consecutive years, you will need to restate your prior year to I&E also.
Last year our Head Accountant Hannah provided a live training session for anyone needing to move from R&P to I&E. The recording can be viewed below.
